Transformation in Bhimavaram! This is what we have seen in the last few days and God has really moved powerfully in this Indian city. A seed of revival has been planted and we believe that for Bhimavaram and vicinity, a new time had arrived.
Today was our last day. Tomorrow we travel by bus to the airport in Hyderabad. We can look back at the fantastic time we have had, and how we have seen God move really powerfully. During our daily outreaches in the nearby villages and in under privileged areas, we were able to share Gods love with the very poorest of the poor. We were able to put our arms around people and declare healing and freedom for them in the name of Jesus. We gave out great quantities of rice, clothing and sari's. In this way we were able to give people the essential things they need to live and we were deeply moved by how grateful the they were. Whole villages gave their hearts to Jesus.
In the area where the tsunami occurred, Mattheus spoke to 1500 people. The Spirit of God worked powerfully and 980 people gave their lives to the Lord. We blessed many with the love of the Lord and also baptised Annette, one of our team leaders, in the ocean. It was a great celebration!
During the two day pastors conference in Bhimavarum, and during a second pastors conference in Tenali, about 900 pastors were taught about the principles of the Kingdom of God. On the second day many of them could testify to the healing they had received on the first day.
The four nights of the crusades were AMAZING! The first night there 11,000 people attended, and after a powerful message by Matheus, 8,900 people accepted Jesus as their Saviour. It was so good to see! The meeting was also filmed for television so the next day we were able to watch it on a national television channel.
The whole of India could see what God was doing in Bhimavaram, and on the evenings that followed, the number of people attending the meetings exploded from 20,000 to 40,000 to 80,000. Eventually 125,000 people filled in Decision Cards to say they had accepted Jesus as their Saviour. We then realised that this crusade had had an historical impact on the future of Bhimavarum and in the last few days one could even feel this impact in the streets.
We are so grateful to God for what he has done. We so clearly experienced his hand resting upon us. We also noticed that when the enemy tried to slam doors in our faces, God would open them again. Nothing is impossible for Him!
On our last day we visited Tenali where TRIN also has a project. There we visited Abram Kuchipudi, our contact person in the area.
We held a pastors conference there, visited the under privileged area, the hospital and the lepers. I have included a picture of a women suffering from leprosy why has lost both legs to the disease. We were able to give her a bicycle designed especially for her so that she did not have to crawl through the streets any more. In Bhimavaram we were also able to give away 30 specially designed bicycles to handicapped people.
In the future, Rajkumar and his team will be busy giving the signed Decision Cards to 600 churches that he is associated with so that they can follow up and disciple the new Christians. During the pastors conference the pastors from these churches were taught how to do the follow up required for the new converts.
Rajkumar is also busy building a new children's home so that he can take in orphans needing a place to live and someone to care for them. In the meantime he will continue to feed them rice. We would like to ask you you continue to pray for Rajkumar and his team. The crusade 'loosened' many spiritual things and they need prayer for protection, courage and faith.
